World Network Wants To Partner Up With Visa

World Network, formerly Worldcoin, is reportedly in talks with Visa to add debit and credit card features to its self-custody crypto wallet.

Sam Altman Gets Involved

The news follows previous reports that the project had been negotiating partnerships with PayPal and OpenAI, especially given the fact that OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman, is in charge of World Network.

If successful, the integration would allow World Wallet to leverage Visa’s global merchant network, enabling fiat on-and-off ramps, stablecoin payments, and fintech services.

Unique Biometric IDs

Altman’s Tools for Humanity has reached out to card issuers and is working with crypto card providers like Rain, which offers Visa cards for projects like Optimism and Avalanche. Rain recently raised $24.5 million in a funding round led by Norwest Venture Partners and others.

World Network builds on Worldcoin’s iris-scanning tech, creating unique biometric IDs for secure, identity-linked financial services. The company also launched the World Chat app on March 7th for encrypted communication among verified users.
