Ethereum Foundation’s Executive Director Steps Down

Aya Miyaguchi has stepped down as the Executive Director of the Ethereum Foundation, instead transitioning to the role of President.

Leadership Changes

Miyaguchi’s move to President signals a new chapter in her leadership, where she will focus on broadening the Foundation’s impact and culture.

Vitalik Buterin confirmed that the Ethereum Foundation is undergoing a leadership overhaul, with Miyaguchi’s new role central to this change. The restructuring aims to enhance the Foundation’s long-term strategy.

Community Reactions

While the transition has received plenty of support, some in the Ethereum community have raised concerns about the Foundation’s pace in addressing scaling solutions and maintaining competitive positioning.

Miyaguchi announced her intention to move from Executive Director to President over a year ago. In her seven years as Executive Director, she played a key role in driving the Foundation’s growth, creating an environment where innovation could thrive.
